Started in Barcelona, Spain in 1933, Jaurena (pronounced How-ren-a) is one of the oldest European companies  specializing in the manufacturing of fine art products.

In its early days, the company was devoted solely to the distribution of natural pigments and oils. As time went on, the firm began producing impressive colors that quickly caught the attention of quality-minded artists throughout Barcelona. Soon these unique, handcrafted oil paints became the company's top item and Jaurena paints were to be found throughout Spain.
